May and I previously collaborated on WHITE HOT at the Soho Rep and HERE Arts Center, and published in the 2008 New York Theatre Review*.

For our second collaboration, we have been developing THE WIFE. Equal parts black comedy and psychological drama, THE WIFE centers on Ruth, a Hasidic woman who befriends her gentrifying neighbors. What seems first as an innocent goyim relationship quickly explodes in Ruth’s face, and the play spirals into a series of events that unravel an entire community.

Working with a cast that includes Ayesha Nguajah (Angela’s Mixtape, New Georges) and Greg Keller (That Pretty Pretty, Rattlestick), May and I plan to put the play on its feet for the first time. All this is in preparation for our fall premiere of THE WIFE in a site-specific location in Williamsburg, November 2010. (But more on that later.)
